Dr. Stephen Kwabena Ayisi Addo has parentage from Aseseeso and Somanya in the Eastern Region of Ghana, and was born in Accra on 30th November 1971. He was born again in 1985. He is a medical doctor with specialisation in Public Health; and currently the Director of the National AIDS/STI Control Programme, Ghana Health Service .
Prior to becoming a member of KBCC/GEC in 1994, he served in various capacities as an executive of both Scripture Union and Christian Medical Fellowship during his secondary (PRESEC-Legon) and tertiary education (University of Ghana Medical School) respectively. Dr. Ayisi Addo is an ace Master of Ceremonies (MC), artist, sportsman, preacher, evangelist and mentor who believes in empowering the youth to higher responsibility in KBCC and Christian ministry. As a ‘sinner saved by grace’ he is inspired by the faith of Abraham the son of Terah, the integrity of Joseph the son of Jacob, the humble and courageous leadership of David the son of Jesse and ultimately Jesus Christ the Saviour of mankind, supreme Shepherd, Steward and Servant of the most-high God.
He has faithfully and consistently served in KBCC as follows: First chairperson of the Publicity Committee; chairperson of the Christian Education Programme (CEP) Committee; member of the Prayer Committee and Educational Foundation; the convener of committees for reorganisation of the bookshop, constitutional review, development of the‘manual of governance’ (church policies) and church branching strategy. His most recent tasks prior to becoming the President of KBCC Council include serving as a pastoral assistant, coordinator of area fellowship groups, chairperson for the 2010-2014 Strategic Plan review and chairman of The Committee of Chairpersons.
This is the second time he is serving as a member of the church council and the second year of the current council membership term. His immediate priority as the new president is to inspire all church members, particularly the youth and young adults, to actively participate in the implementation of the new strategic plan 2015-2024 of KBCC, in line with the overall vision and mission of the Ghana Evangelical Convention.
He is married to Sandra Abena Akyaa Ayisi Addo a nutritionist, and CEO of Nutriline, a private weight loss and nutrition company in Accra.
